Dolina Bialego

Dolina Bialego(White Stream Valley) & Dolina Strazyska(Strazyska Valley)walk

Exploring the valleys of Dolina Bialego & Dolina Strazyska - about 2h 45' walk (plus about 45 minutes walk along Droga Pod Reglami to get to and from the start and end point) climbing to the end of one valley and coming down along another. This is a great walk along picturesque valleys with some steep climbing, a view of Gievont along the way and a mountain hut at the top of the valley.

The walk starts and ends at the skip jump in Zakopane. From there we walk west along Droga Pod Reglami - a walking path running just below the forest line with a great view of Zakopane below - to the entrance to Dolina Bialego.

From the entrance it is a 1h 15' to the top of the valley following yellow route. It is a beautiful narrow valley with Bialy stream running in the middle.

After leaving the stream behind, the route climbs steeply up. At the top, the yellow route meets the black one and it is another 55 minutes to the next valley. The path is very steep and rocky and eventually goes down to Dolina Strazyska. From there you can see the top of Gievont (easy to recognize by the cross ).

A tiny mountain hut at the top of Dolina Strazyska is a perfect place for lunch. In addition to a good selection of cooked hearty dishes it serves grilled oscypek (highlanders' cheese) with cranberries.

From the top of Dolina Strazyska it is an easy, 35 minutes, walk down along a wide path to Droga Pod Reglami. From there you need to turn right and walk back to the ski jump.
