A walk along the valley of Dolina Koscieliska - an easy hike of about 1h 30' each way, at the end of the valley on Hala Ornak, a mountain shelter (at 1108m) with a restaurant. Start and end of the walk is the entrance to Koscieliska Valley.
Dolina Koscieliska is very popular with tourists . The route is easy and very picturesque along the Koscieliski Stream, climbing gently through the woods. Additional attractions along the route are the caves, such as Mrozna Jaskinia, which can be visited with a guide, and a small lake in the forest, Smreczynski Staw. It is an easy walk that can be done even in winter. The restaurant at the mountain shelter has a good selection of delicious cooked meals and freshly baked szarlotka ( apple pie).
To get to the entrance to the valley you need to get a bus or a minibus from one of the bus stops in Zakopane. The other way to get to the entrance is to walk west along Droga pod Reglami route starting near the ski jump in Zakopane.
Part of the route can be also travelled by bike or a horse carriage (sledge in winter) that can be hired at the entrance to the valley.
